world’s thinnest bluetooth GPS receiver

At 8mm’s Keomo’s MTK claims to be world’s thinnest bluetooth GPS receiver. It has the MTK 32 channel chipset on board and a powerful 1050mAh Li-Ion battery which they claim will stand-by upto 200 hours thanks to their patented Fuzzy Auto On/Off feature.

The MTK is pretty much compatible with any bluetooth enabled device out there but if you must see them listed here you go:

Satellite fix times for the Keomo MTK is as follows: cold / warm / hot : 36 / 33 / 1 second. It looks like the device will only be available in Europe… No word on pricing just yet.

Keomo navigation device out in May for $230

Keomo is getting ready to release their first navigation system for only €179 ($230) in May this year. This low end device not only does GPS navigation but also can play your multimedia files allowing you to watch your videos, listen music, view images and read e-books.

The on-board navigation software is Smart2Go and the maps are provided by Navteq. For €179 you’ll get regional maps but if you are willing to spend another 40€ you can get maps for all Western Europe.

Here are some more specs for the new Keomo GPS navigation system:

This is a great price for a good looking device that only measures 20mm thick and has a decent GPS receiver as well as a decent navigation software. We can’t wait for Keomo to load some Northern America maps on their systems and ship’em here to U.S. … via

Keomo, big supporters of the Germany 2006 World Cup have recently introduced a new bluetooth GPS receiver. Called Nemerix 1500, this device is what you need if you care about battery life. Battery will last 360 hours (that’s 15 days!) on stand-by mode and can go for 30 hours straight while fully operating. As if that wasn’t enough engineers went ahead and implemented “Fuzzy auto on / off power saving mode” which once inside the car, automatically connects with your PDA / laptop and turns itself into sleeping mode when leaving the car (after about 30 sec.).

Satellite help for finding stadiums in Germany

With World Cup fever building fast, GPS navigation company Keomo has announced a free service to allow the millions of football fans to find their way to each stadium.

The company has created a point-of-interest (POI) database of the 11 stadiums throughout Germany that will be used to host matches between the 32 computing nations.

UK fans with a GPS device can save themselves the trouble of looking up street names or asking directions by downloading the POI database into their own device.

It’s compatible with navigation software from key suppliers such as Tom Tom, Mio, Destinator, Garmin and Route 66.
