Asus P565 is fast and GPS enabled


Just recently some details surfaced about the new Asus P565 on CNet of Taiwan.

What catches our eye before anything else is of course the embedded GPS receiver from SiRF. However we also would like you to pay attention to the 800Mhz Marvell Tavor processor. We’re not sure what you’d do with that much juice but you can be sure that this Windows Mobile phone will boot up faster than any other.

asus r710 hud demo

Asus R710 with heads up display (HUD) was announced on Navigadget a while ago but we were left wondering what it actually looked like on a windshield.

Now we have a video of Asus R710 with HUD doing a demo at some trade show.

The HUD (Heads Up Display) projects navigation instructions that include directions, speed etc. on the windshield in front of the driver. This not only helps users focus on the roads ahead, it also prevents users to be distracted by the device itself – hugely improving car safety.

Asus R50A finally here


Asus R50A which we undiscovered at CES at the beginning of this year has finally hit U.S. shores. The device just got its FCC approval meaning it will be available to American consumers very soon.

It looks like the initial specs we posted are still valid including the integrated GPS receiver.

Asus R710 with heads-up-display

The Asus R700 family has a new member called Asus R710 and this one has a very special feature. According to engadget Asus R710 has a mini projector that can display navigation related information on your windshield. If that’s really the case this will be the first for a GPS navigation device to integrate a projector for HUD purposes.

Asus P560


In addition to P320 and ZX1 Asus seems to have another PDA phone up their sleeves. The new P560.

Asus P560 should be marketed next June for approximately 500 €. It will be shipped with the GPS navigation kit including the mounts, car charger, and the iGO 6 navigation software with regional European maps preloaded on a 512MB memory card.

P560 will use Windows Mobile 6.1 as well as the new touch screen interface.

Asus P320


Asus P320 which we had announced back in March just made it to FCC. This means we can expect to see in the States as soon as this year.

The specs of Asus P320 are as follows:

Asus R700t


After Asus R700 we now hear that Asus is showcasing Asus R700t – pretty much the same GPS navigation system with traffic message channel capability. The rest of the specs will remain the same – but to summarize R700t will have a 4.3″ touch screen, hands free bluetooth to pair up with your phone, and run on a long lasting 1300mAh Li-Ion battery.

Asus M536

At CeBIT in Germany Asus announced a GPS enabled PDAphone called M536 which has full qwerty keyboard in the front just like a Blackberry.

Asus M536 is the successor to Asus M530W but adds new features such as the touch screen, a biometric finger print reader and a GPS receiver. Kind of different with M536 is the square screen resolution at 320×320 instead of the usual 320×240 pixels.
