Sony Ericsson P5i Paris pictures was recently leaked on the internet and from what we could gather it looks like Paris will have an embedded GPS receiver. More than likely this will be an A-GPS chip just like the one on N95.

Sony Ericsson Z780

Sony Ericsson Z780 is the new HSDPA phone with a clamshell design. In addition to supporting high speed networks such as HSDPA and 3G the Z780 is also equipped with A-GPS.

Thanks to the latest version of Google Maps for Mobile that comes pre-installed you’ll have direct access high quality maps as well as satellite images.

Sony Ericsson P5

Sony Ericsson P5 (aka Paris) is the latest smartphone that promises to have an integrated GPS receiver. This obviously is the leaked image and it hasn’t been made official yet but rumors around the internets suggests that it will be official in May and hit the market as soon as September.

P5 will run Symbian/UIQ 3.3, have a slider keyboard, and even a 5MP camera. For browsing you’ll have access to Opera Mobile 9 browser which should be a breeze operating with the available stylus on the touchscreen.

GPS navigation software for Sony PSP

We’ve talked about the Sony PSP GPS navigation system numerous times before. Apparently the software was on demo at the Game Developers Conference recently. The GPS add-on (PSP-290) is not seen in this pic for it is a developers kit version it says our source:

However there were a bunch (7) GPS-supporting games that had been released in Japan on view, including Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops Plus & a couple of golf games. (And by the way, the reason you can’t see the GPS top-mounted aerial in the photo is this is a devkit PSP.)

NVU-73T and NVU-83T available for pre-order

Sony’s two new GPS navigation systems for the U.S. market are available for pre-order on sonystyle website. NVU-73T will be $50 cheaper than what we expected. It will sell for $300. NVU-83T on the other hand is already $100 cheaper. NVU-83T will sell for $400.

Sony Ericsson added a new GPS phone to their Cyber-shot lineup: the new C702. It is not a standalone GPS receiver, but an aGPS chip - which promises performance even indoors with the help of cell towers.

The C702 Cyber-shot integrates GPS and a range of location-based imaging services… When you take a picture, information about where you are in the world is automatically added to the image…

If you are lost on your travels, Google Maps for Mobile locates and guides you to where you want to go… Use GPS to pinpoint your location and then get turn-by-turn voice guidance to your destination. Find your way home or to one of up to 20 million points of interest.

Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 is the newest Window Mobile phone out there that features an A-GPS chip. The features are plenty so we’ll just go ahead and list them.

new Sony Ericsson K8xx will have GPS

Apparently these are some spy shots of a possibly new Sony 800 series CyberShot phone with a 3MP camera. Interesting is that this new phone which we don’t even know the model number of is going to integrate a GPS receiver to utilize Google Maps and Favourite Places.

We’ll keep you updated when we know more about this mysterious Sony Ericsson phone.

Sony NVU-73T

Sony also announced NVU-73T at CES 2008, a more basic GPS navigation system compared to NVU-83T. NVU-73T will cost $350 and will lack bluetooth or position plus technology.

But NVU-73T is still filled with useful features such as text-to-speech voice commands and real-time-traffic capability. It has about 5 million points of interest and comes with U.S. and Canadian maps on its 2GB flash memory including Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico.

Even though NVU-73T has a smaller screen than 83T, measuring 4.3″, it still can support the dual view feature on its 16 x 9 aspect ratio display.

Sony finally made the GPS add-on for PSP official on their CES 2008 website. There’s not much info revealed there but just this:
