Magellan’s consumer product division which was recently bought by Mio just yesterday announced a few new GPS navigation systems; one of which is the Magellan RoadMate 1340. 1340 is at the lower end of the new RoadMate series with a 3.5″ QVGA full-color, anti-glare touch-screen display, text-to-speech feature, and maps that cover USA, Canada, and Puerto Rico.
Magellan RoadMate 1340 will cost $180 and ship with a windshield mount and cradle; a 12-volt car adapter, and an adhesive disk for alternative, on-dash mounting.
Magellan RoadMate 1340 is already on Amazon available for pre-order.

Recently purchased a Magellan 1340. No instruction in box with GPS. How can I get a copy of instructions. Was told to go online to get them, but I don’t see any. Would appreciate if you can tell me how to get them.
Thank you.

There should have been a small paper manual in the box which is a quick start guide.
Go to the Magellan website, you can download the manual there. They’ve also released a firmware upgrade (v1.10).

Pick the series (Roadmate) and enter your model # 1340.

The old firmware could not map the trip into another section of the map file (i.e. LA to San Diego). Just received the replacement by FedEx ground…
It took forever! At least it works now.
