about geotagging of photos on iPhone 3G

There’s a good write up about iPhone 3G’s geotagging capabilities and its implications on your privacy. This feature has been around for a while, but still; in case you didn’t know.
Now you might be somewhat worried. You might be asking yourself how can I protect my iPhone from dropping locations which I would rather be kept private. Unfortunately Apple made this irritatingly difficult to achieve. The most easy method is to disable GPS on the phone entirely, and only enable it when you would need it (if for example you need to use the Current Location feature on the Maps app). To do this, hit “Settings”, “General”, and toggle “Location Services” from On to Off. This will prevent any future pictures from being tagged, but also disable the location features on any apps which use them.

I’m unable to toggle “Location Services” from On to Off as it’s greyed out. How do you approach this?
