It is a GPS device designed the for the military or search-and-rescue teams to help them with group coordination. It lets you see other members of your group in real time thanks to its ability to pair up with a radio from the same company to communicate with other devices on the field.
It can record location, temperature, altitude, heading, speed, and show ETA; send and receive text messages between groups, individuals or dispatch center – which makes it suitable for covert operations where voice can not be used. It is even capable of encrypted transmissions.
You can use the Discover GPS Speaker Microphone as a traditional stand-alone GPS unit with the added benefit of transmitting location, text messages, tracking information and more when connected to EFJohnson 5100 ES Series portable radio. The unit also operates as a combination speaker microphone. Users can see and interact with other units in the field via a LCD screen. This display is icon-based for ease of operation and quick user training. The Discover requires no additional equipment.
