CSR’s chip combines GPS, bluetooth, FM transceiver
Jan 25, 2009 gps navigation, misc news

We’ve talked about CSR’s chips here on Navigadget before. Today we’re going to talk about another new revolutionary device from them.
Called BlueCore BC7830, this is world’s smallest GPS combo device for mobile handsets. It measures only 11mm2 in size, and includes GPS, Bluetooth v2.1+EDR, FM transmit and receive technologies and support for Bluetooth low energy all on a single chip.
CSR claims BlueCore BC7830’s design will enable handset designers to add GPS functionality to their products for less than a dollar.
Bonus points if you figure out what kind of device this guy is holding in his hand…

Is that the new iPhone 2.1 ;-p
That said CSR make the Bluetooth chip for the current iPhone model.
Sickening to think that this new iPhone will I’m sure inaugurate new firmware that permits point to point navigation and quite probably the Bluetooth connectivity with it … That what I’d do in Steve’s place.
