European GPS navigation system maker TomTom just introduced a new model for the U.S. called Tomtom GO 740 LIVE at CES 2009.
The most exciting feature of TomTom GO 740 LIVE is that it includes a SIM card module which provides two way connectivity for your device. GO Live 740 is expected to be available in the second quarter of 2009 for $500. This price will include 1 year of free LIVE service which includes:
- Real-time traffic information that updates every 2-5 minutes
- Local Search by Google includes over 11 million businesses
- TomTom Fuel Price Service brings you gas prices from 120,000 over the U.S. and updates 6 times a day.
- TomTom Weather
- QuickGPSfix connects to satellites even faster
- TomTom Buddies allows you to exchange location and text messages with other friends
Other features, and specs of the new GO 740 LIVE include a more slim design, speech recognition for over 130 commands, 4.3 inch full TFT color LCD, preloaded maps USA, and Canada from Tele Atlas.

Traffic exchange is an example of a way to get noticed also. Not sure how many people use them but they still work.
