GPS giveaway and polls
Dec 8, 2008 GPS giveaways, gps navigation

First off; our giveaway is ending at the end of today so if you still haven’t done so go to our QStarz BT-1300 giveaway page and leave a comment.
Secondly, if you’ve realized we started doing polls to get your opinion on various GPS related topics. The latest poll will be placed at the top right of our site so if you’re reading this in an RSS reader you can go to navigadget.com and see it in action there. Or maybe we’ll just put it in a post like this ():
What do you think our next poll should be?

Perhaps as your next poll question, you could ask: “Which method of obtaining updates to the map database in your GPS navigation system would you prefer?” And give some options such as, (1) purchase the map data from a retail store, (2) receive map data by mail (3) download from the manufacturers website, (4) automatic wireless updates sent directly to the device, (5)…
And fwiw, I selected “internet search” from the poll above because such connectivity can be used to search for up-to-date info on POI’s, which is the weakest point of most current systems in my opinion. Could also be used for numerous other useful features. I love what Dash did by opening up the data connection to 3rd party apps. Very useful! Too bad they’re tanking. Traffic updates would be my second pick from the options listed.

3rd party apps, memory cards, updating firmware by brand
maybe just some topics to consider

…how about routing engine performance? I am forever reading about how the various units on the market provide routes that are not necessarily the routes for getting from point A to point B.
