Eclipse AVN726E
Nov 25, 2008 gps navigation

We just talked about Eclipse AVN4430 and Eclipse AVN726E but we thought the Eclipse AVN726E deserves its own post since it also is a “Innovations 2009 Design And Engineering Award Honoree”
The AVN726E, essentially a next generation of AVN, provides “full-on in-vehicle entertainment” and achieves superior image quality with pure digital video circuitry, improved audio performance with lowered distortion using premium parts as well as memory-based navigation, creating a next generation AVN unit.
Eclipse AVN726E has a 7″ screen and also provides GPS navigation but not detachable like the AVN4430. The specs are not yet revealed for Eclipse AVN726E.

After doing some reviews, I was going to head out to get the Pioneer AVIC-F90BT today and then I came around the Eclipse AVN726E just moments ago. I’ll wait for this unit to be released instead.
While doing the research most people complaints about the F90BT was that the loading time is around 3 – 5 mins, that’s horrible and even with the firmware updates that they’ve release that issue still wasn’t fixed. About a week ago I called Pioneer trying to find one of their Premier dealer in my area and of all the numbers they gave me (5 to be exact), either told me they don’t do Pioneer units anymore or they seem to close down. (Rather strange)…
Anyway, this Eclipse unit seems to be promising so I hope it won’t be disappointing in the end.

Dame…where did you purchase the Eclipse AVN726E from?

I called Fujitsu Ten to inquire about the Eclipse AVN726E and they told me that they don’t sell directly to the public and they put me on to their authorized dealer in my area, which is in Toronto. The place is called Kromer Radio. I’m still waiting for the product though. I spoke to the rep yesterday and he says that it should be in by the end of the week. I’ll update with any other information as it comes along.

I bought the AVN726E on Amazon a couple days ago for $925. It is bad ass. I installed it today and am really impressed!

Hey guys so here’s the deal.. my last update was a month ago and that’s because Fujitsu 10 held the Eclipse AVN726 unit back so instead of the unit being released at the start of April it was at the end of April instead. Anyway, that’s now history as I just finished getting it installed. I’m loving it already… Looks really beautiful, sounds is great and the features are just as excellent. I promised I would get some pics on a site going… I will do that before the wknd is finish. I’m going back to enjoying my radio some more :)

Hey guys, sorry I took so long with the pictures of the Eclipse AVN726E installed in my car… I was trying to get my pics up on Nico forum but them I realized that I am not able to upload my pics from my PC and so I had to brainstorm and here it is. I hope you all like what you see. If you have any questions about the unit or anything else please feel free to drop comments and even contact me.

Does any one know of any cell phone carriers and phones that sync with the phonebook option. All of Eclipse’s carriers are foreign cellphone companies.
May 27th, 2009 at 9:01 am
The carrier doesn’t matter. I have an old Sony Ericsson Z550a and for some reason I can’t get the damn thing to work properly even though it picks up the phone. However, whenever my girlfriend comes in my car the unit automatically picks up her phone so she’s able to use it. Besides she has a Blackberry Bold which is a much newer phone so I don’t know if that will help answer your question.

Hey the Blackberry Storm works with the phone book data transfer, you have to make sure none of the contacts have pictures though, for some strange reason it wont transfer data if ther are pictures. Also only one phone number will transfer per contact, so erase any unnecessary number from the contact so you can have the numbers that you will use the most.

Anybody have any luck getting an iPhone to transfer the phone book? Supposedly the 3G and 3Gs have the PBAP (Phone Book Access Profile) but I’ve had no luck. I’ve also tried getting a MacBook to pair with the unit hoping that it could be used to transfer the phone book – still no luck. Any ideas?

I have the same thing here with iPhone 3GS – Bluetooth works fine except phonebook is empty since I cannot do data transfer from my iPhone 3GS to the unit :(

Delete all your photos from your address book. Its a pain, but it will allow you to transfer your address book once you do this.
