Not by using satellites but by how it fell on the ground when he was fired at….
This is kind of an older story but we thought we’d share it with you: A United States Marine brought his eTrex legend with him into Iraq and that decision may have saved his life. The Lance Corporal Chris (no last name given) was in a heated battle in Iraq. He felt something brush against his pant leg and looked down and saw a tear in his pants. He pulled the eTrex out and saw that it had been shot. He followed the groove of the bullet in the eTrex and was able to decipher the location of the shooter. He was able to return fire and his quick thinking saved his life. The eTrex was destroyed, but it did its job to the very end by telling the Marine the location of the sniper before being destroyed.
