When we last saw the Garmin Nuvi 350 it was shipping for $482 dollars. Today we saw it for a very reasonable $178 dollars at Amazon. The Garmin Nuvi 350 was voted one of amazons most loved product of 2007. A major reason for that was the ease of use combined with the dependability that the Garmin Nuvi brand is famous for.

Since the product has been out for a while there’s not much new in the tech spec department, but since we’re thoughtful people we’ll share them with you anyway. It is WAAS enabled, pre-loaded with the Navigator NT v. 7 map program for Canada, the US, and Puerto Rico, can play mp3s, and boasts spoken turn by turn instructions. The device speaks also says the street names so rather than the generic, “turn right in fifty feet”, you would expect in this price range you get, “turn right onto McKenzie Way here.” It also ships with a sample language pack and the mounting hardware. The traffic alerts are a great feature which allows you to plan your trip around the massive traffic jam that just happened on your route home. The brightly lit 2.8 inch touch screen has intuitive controls which make programming your trip a snap. The battery is rated for between four and eight hours of usability depending on use and the travel charger is the standard type that plugs right into the cigarette lighter.

The Garmin Nuvi 350 is a lot of machine for a very low price. It is also ready to go right of the box and needs very little set up time. The intuitive controls make this an excellent GPS unit for the technologically impaired out there. The only way you can lose with this machine at this price is to not buy one before they’re gone.
