Traffic Control Center at TomTom

Published on October 7th, 2008 in gps navigation, tomtom

This is the traffic control center at TomTom. Here they check on the information they send out, and monitor the information 24/7 including what’s coming in, how it is processed, and what’s being sent out to the customers.

They have several levels of redundancy in hardware in case failures and they also have pre-production machines.

Video explains how the traffic information is controlled at this center and what the end users see and how they can interpret the data.

It even shows in real time how certain traffic incidents were being sent to the customers.

HD Traffic and IQ routes is combined from four sources. Mobile phone networks, TomTom customers, TomTom work data, and governmental data and it has a fine resolution of 15 minutes for each day of the week.

Everything you need to know about TomTom HD Traffic; just watch it… thanks Dawid.
