Sep 16, 2008 gps navigation

German brand Becker presented a new portable GPS navigation system called Z201. It is different from Z200 with its 3D buildings feature as well as visualizing the landscape in 3D.
Up until now Becker has been relying on navigation software called Navigon MobileNavigator. However with the new Z201, Becker will be using iGO 8 for navigation software.
As in earlier models, this one also integrates a SiRF Star III GPS chip with InstantFixII functionality which predicts the positions of GPS satellites for a faster position fix.
Aside from all this Z201 takes its design Becker Traffic Assist Z101 and Z200. It has a wide 4.3″ screen with maps of 42 countries in Europe by TeleAtlas from the second quarter of 2008 on a 2GB memory card.
For multimedia Z201 allows for viewing of images and can also play music while navigating. The processor runs at 400 MHz and the device itself measures 12.5×8.2×1.8 cm.
Z201 will be available in November for 249 €… via

Almost all information is ok, but inside You cannot find Teleatlas maps. It will be first PND unit with I-Go 8 engine with NAVTEQ maps. (42 countries) I-Go 8 has given only “engine”, all other new funcionalities were made by Becker. There are also 3D city models and 3D terrain view from Navteq.
