    I’m working on a project for which this will come in handy. Garmin has just released their 696, a $3300 aviation GPS with a “huge” 7″ display. I’m interested in home-building a less expensive alternative, based on the Asus Eee Laptop PC and other availalbe hardware components and software. I’m looking for help/contributors.

    i love the Asus Eee PC, it is very light, cheap and portable. I also bought another unit for my girlfriend and she really likes it.

    I got an Asus Eee as a christmas gift. It is very compact but i wish that the LCD screen was larger.
