TomTom just made the availability of the new TomTom GO 930 and GO 730 official for North America.
Here is how much these new models will cost you:
- TomTom GO 930T: $550
- TomTom GO 930: $500
- TomTom GO 730T: $500
- TomTom GO 730: $450
The main difference between the 930 and 730 is that 930 offers maps of United States, Canada and Europe, whereas 730 only has United States and Canada installed on its internal memory.

Actually there is more than just the maps that are the difference between the 730 and the 930. The 930 has 2 GB more of memory and also has an accelerometer. That way if you lose your GPS signal (tunnel or tall buildings) the 930 will try to estimate where you current position is, the 730 will just freeze the position where you lost the signal.

Note that the extra memory in the 930 doesn’t have any advantage, since it still has insufficient available for AVR (voice recognition) for both maps. If you bought in the US, you don’t have AVR for Europe and vice-versa.
