For using GPS in Asus P320 :
    1. Enable GPRS in your mobile. contact your ISP for this
    2. DOuble click GPRS Catcher. Click on UPDATE. It will download the latest GPRS data
    3. Browse to this link in your mobile http://m.google.com/maps , and download Google Maps for mobile. Follow the instructions for installing the same.
On successful completion, go to programs, you will find Google maps. Bingo !!!

Yep, but google MAPS is not the same as GPS. eg. when driving in your car, you want the GPS to tell you where on the map you actually are. not just have a copy of the map there.

You can try installing GPS softwares like descriptor 7. These will work without the grps connectivity also which is actually the GPS. No idea if descriptor 7 is available on trial.

    Cheers,

Hi binay, I am happy to hear that we can use GPS whitout GPRS, but how to do that? Just install descriptor 7 and it works, or after that I have to download or copy the map? I mean, what about the map?

to start with, you can try gps catcher if you hav gprs, but i cant use gprs from my phone-(i hav airtel prepaid), so go 2 internet, just type ‘free gps software for wm download’ in google search. select one. i’ve tried gpstoday, 3dtrackerfree, sirftech. they are all free and good 2 begin with, u can download better ones if u can afford. if u find a good s/w, plz inform me too . . .
