GPS on Archos 605
Published on April 23rd, 2008 in gps navigation
Archos yesterday introduced a new GPS enabled car mount for its ARCHOS 605 WiFi portable media player that can turn the device into a GPS navigation system. When you think about it the Archos 605 with WiFi is a good deal considering it will cost you only $400 for a 30GB media player and a GPS navigation system with a large screen. Try getting a standalone GPS navigation system with WiFi and 800×480 resolution and 4.3″ screen for that same price. You won’t find many. Maybe none.
The in-car holder attaches to the windshield and can connect to your stereo system using the line out to use your already existing speakers. Also when you’re in a wireless hotspot you surf the net or just play something from your media library. Or just stream directly from the internet thanks to the new Adobe Flash Player 9.0 support
The 30GB Archos 605 bundled with the GPS enabled windshield mount will cost $399.99 like we mentioned and will include traffic and speed control assistance features. It will be available as soon as this May.
