Holux M241 review
Jan 30, 2008 gps navigation, reviews, tracking

The mini GPS tracker from Holux which we announced back in December 2007 is apparently called M241 and it just got an extended review from Richard’s Tech Reviews.
Holux M241 seems to have performed well but the reviewer had some issues with the battery life and the software that is provided with this GPS receiver / data logger.
Holux M241 can be purchased from Buy GPS Now for roughly $69 plus shipping. Not bad for a such a GPS receiver with an LCD screen.

My M-241 Log’s and can communicate with Holux own software, but NO succes trying to communicate with others softwares libe Google Maps, you can PAIR with nokia phones, but don’t work as GPS Bluetooth… Seems to use bluetooth just to send tracks and curernt status JUST thru HOLUX own limited software (no map, … nothing).
I want my money back!

Hello, there were some problems with the Firmware 1.0 by using the device on southern hemisphere. HOLUX has updated the firmware (1.1). You can download a whole package with the software under

Hello. Does anybody know if the Holux 241 is compatible with iPhone bluetooth? Or maybe via cable?
Thank you

I have been using this thing for almost a week. Can’t complain about it for the following reasons:
- good form factor with lanyard to boot
- tracking feature
- works flawlessly with my Dell Axim PDA
- inexpensive
I really do not have a clue how the negative comments come about… I think the solution would be:
- to read the manual
- buy from a vendor who can help you when you need advice
Cheers!

Nice review thanks!
Is it possible to enable logging while using it with my Palm TX over bluetooth? Or can I just use logging OR bluetooth protocol, not at same time?

It’s a good piece of GPS receiver + tracking device. Bluetooth works marvellously. It has its software updated to V1.12 also with more control features. Tiny and informative LCD screen is useful. Those negative comments above are probably people who don’t know how to use it or don’t know what it can do.

It is GPS receiver, featuring USB and Bluetooth connection. It is also capable logging your tracks into built-in flash memory (upto 130000 points) and display current values on the LCD with backlight. All features can work simutlaneously, so you can record log into memory of this device while navigating using your notebook or pocket PC pared to this Bluetooth receicer!
It is an excellent device!
