magellan triton comparison
Jan 23, 2008 gps navigation, magellan

We got our hands on the Magellan Triton Comparison Chart that includes Triton 200, Triton 300, Triton 400, Triton 500, Triton 1500, and finally Triton 2000.
The Triton’s price range from $127 to $468 depending mostly on scree size, processor speed, availability of an SD card slot, and various other things which is shown in detail in this Magellan Triton Comparison Chart (PDF!). Did you know Triton 2000 even includes a 2MP digital camera and a flaslight?

Doesnt matter. The firmware is buggy and they are ALL being recalled. REI.com doesnt even offer them for sale any longer. Do NOT buy this product.

I second the buginess. I just returned my Triton 400, it appears when you transfer data from a PC (waypoints, etc.) it overwrites OS RAM and results in “lockups”.

Absolutely horrible product not user friendly and it is a nightmare to load maps on the unit after a few hours of playing with this contraption i give up a few hundred bucks down the drain stay away from Magellan if you want something that works.
