There are 25 26 31 32 different nuvi’s out there and it can be slightly confusing to pick one. So we put together THE ULTIMATE NUVI COMPARISON TABLE.
Here are some abbreviations we used to make everything fit:
- disp: display size
- batt: battery life
- T2S: text-to-speech for pronouncing street names
- NA: North America
- BT: bluetooth
- voice comm: voice commands for speech recognition
- rmt: remote controller
- FM: FM transmitter for using your car’s audio system

Looks good but you forgot to mention which can use the traffic receiver.
You should also add which ones have possibility of remote antenna
you shoud include what chipset they are using. i believe that not all models use sirf III.
and the number of POI’s…
just a correction to your list; the 370 only comes with 3.5 inch screen
Do any/all of them have WAAS?
Another correction… Nuvi 650 has Bluetooth and FM transmitter….
Maybe there’s more to it, but why would anyone buy the more expensive 780 when both the 770 and the 760 offer the same things AND Europe maps for less money (up to $300)?
<> …. I checked the website and it says no on the bluetooth and fm transmitter, but I swear it’s what I have and it has both.

You forgot the Nuvi 200 :(
…….I’d like to have seen the LxWxD specs. Anywhere in a list like this?
How about size? 3X dimensions and the volume would be good.
I have a 3 year old ique that as far as I can tell is smaller than all of these, and can do way more. I just want to be able to sync contacts and waypoints and have it fit in my pocket. I don’t think one of these can do that.
My brother has a nuvi 250 and it seems just as fast as my ique except the screen rez is worse, it has the serf3, can do NO PDA stuff at all, and is way fatter. blaaaa
arggggggggggggg.

Dudes, compare the Nuvi 760, 770, and 780. NO DIFFERENCE (’cept the PRICE!!!!) What gives!!!!!!????
you also forgot to mention which units support topo maps
Can you add:
processor speed
available RAM
SDHC card compatibility
charging from mount
LTM: We corrected the screen size for 370.
TjL: They all support WAAS.
Jason: Our specs for 650 were right as you also realized. You must have a limited edition or something :)
Neil: We added 200 now. Thanks.
Adrian and Larry: Difference of 760, 770, 780 is in the maps. Why is 780 more expensive with less maps? 780 has 2nd generation MSN Direct and you can send addresses wirelessly to 780 (and 880).
How much internal memory does each one (Nuvi 760, 770, 780) have? Doesn’t the 770 have more since it has NA and EU maps?
205w does not support T2S~
The 255W (and probably all the 2*5 series) take full-size SD cards, not micro SD. Also, the 255W does not support T2S.
I just got a 205 and it does have a MicroSD. My buddy just bought a 205W and his has the regular SD slot. Neither have T2S.
I’d really like to see a comparison of receiver sensitivity in GPS units. How tough is this to do?
I’m trying to replace my 276C which got run over by a truck…….can any of the NUVI’s do the following:
1. Ability to download tracks.
2. Ability to change coordinate systems between UTM and Geographicals.
3. Ability to change datums…WGS84 to PSAD ‘56, and so on.
4. Ability to define a User Grid.
(The 276C can do all of the above)
5. Bluetooth
6. MP3.
I know, I’m asking a lot.
There is a distinction between North America and the lower 48 states only (which came preloaded with my Nuvi 205. Can you indicate this in your very excellent NUVI comparison chart?
I want to buy either a Garmin 205 or a 360. #60 is discontinued and had many more features and is cheaper…but what am I losing out on?
360 I meant. I want the 360 but afraid because I do not know what I would be losing
Can anybody give me the difference between a NUVI 710 and 760 ? I am from South Africa and can not find a direct comparison between the two products. The price is different here in Africa but the functionality seems to the same …. ? Why ?
The Nuvi 850 data appears basically correct. However, I bought mine via Tiger Direct for ~$280.
Also note, after two days of ownership I now understand this model has been discontinued by Garmin. No problem though as I like the unit, the lack of BT is not an issue as it still suits my requirements.
