Published on January 20th, 2008 in garmin, gps navigation
There are 25 26 31 32 different nuvi’s out there and it can be slightly confusing to pick one. So we put together THE ULTIMATE NUVI COMPARISON TABLE.
Here are some abbreviations we used to make everything fit:
- disp: display size
- batt: battery life
- T2S: text-to-speech for pronouncing street names
- NA: North America
- BT: bluetooth
- voice comm: voice commands for speech recognition
- rmt: remote controller
- FM: FM transmitter for using your car’s audio system

Looks good but you forgot to mention which can use the traffic receiver.
January 21st, 2008 at 8:11 am
You should also add which ones have possibility of remote antenna
January 21st, 2008 at 8:32 am
you shoud include what chipset they are using. i believe that not all models use sirf III.
January 21st, 2008 at 8:34 am
and the number of POI’s…
January 21st, 2008 at 8:36 am
just a correction to your list; the 370 only comes with 3.5 inch screen
January 21st, 2008 at 8:48 am
Do any/all of them have WAAS?
January 21st, 2008 at 9:05 am
Another correction… Nuvi 650 has Bluetooth and FM transmitter….
January 21st, 2008 at 9:10 am
Maybe there’s more to it, but why would anyone buy the more expensive 780 when both the 770 and the 760 offer the same things AND Europe maps for less money (up to $300)?
January 21st, 2008 at 9:10 am
<> …. I checked the website and it says no on the bluetooth and fm transmitter, but I swear it’s what I have and it has both.

You forgot the Nuvi 200 :(
January 21st, 2008 at 10:46 am
…….I’d like to have seen the LxWxD specs. Anywhere in a list like this?
January 21st, 2008 at 10:59 am
How about size? 3X dimensions and the volume would be good.
I have a 3 year old ique that as far as I can tell is smaller than all of these, and can do way more. I just want to be able to sync contacts and waypoints and have it fit in my pocket. I don’t think one of these can do that.
My brother has a nuvi 250 and it seems just as fast as my ique except the screen rez is worse, it has the serf3, can do NO PDA stuff at all, and is way fatter. blaaaa
arggggggggggggg.

Dudes, compare the Nuvi 760, 770, and 780. NO DIFFERENCE (’cept the PRICE!!!!) What gives!!!!!!????
January 21st, 2008 at 8:48 pm
you also forgot to mention which units support topo maps
January 22nd, 2008 at 12:21 pm
Can you add:
processor speed
available RAM
SDHC card compatibility
charging from mount
January 23rd, 2008 at 11:41 am
LTM: We corrected the screen size for 370.
TjL: They all support WAAS.
Jason: Our specs for 650 were right as you also realized. You must have a limited edition or something :)
Neil: We added 200 now. Thanks.
Adrian and Larry: Difference of 760, 770, 780 is in the maps. Why is 780 more expensive with less maps? 780 has 2nd generation MSN Direct and you can send addresses wirelessly to 780 (and 880).

How much internal memory does each one (Nuvi 760, 770, 780) have? Doesn’t the 770 have more since it has NA and EU maps?

205w does not support T2S~
August 2nd, 2008 at 7:01 am
The 255W (and probably all the 2*5 series) take full-size SD cards, not micro SD. Also, the 255W does not support T2S.

I just got a 205 and it does have a MicroSD. My buddy just bought a 205W and his has the regular SD slot. Neither have T2S.
