One step up from the Magellan RoadMate 1400 we mentioned a few days ago is the RoadMate 1412.

The hardware, such as the 4.3″ touch screen display and the Centrality Atlas III GPS chipset are identical but it has more internal memory for POIs and maps.

RoadMate 1412 adds maps for Canada and Alaska; and also offers text-to-speech function to announce street names. Points of interests are also increased from 1.3 million to 6 million with RoadMate 1412.

It will have an MSRP of $300.
