Published on January 11th, 2008 in fitness, gps navigation
uPro by uPlay is a brand new GPS enabled range finder that is expected to be debuted at 2008 PGA show.
uPro brings the best of GPS and laser technologies in this device and adds aerial images, video flyovers into the mix. In addition, uPro allows the golfer to get exact distances to and from any point on the course.
In something called a “Pro Mode”, uPro can actually render custom views of the course depending on the location of the player and update as he/she moves.
No word on pricing just yet. But do check a selection of golf clubs (irons and drivers) via

I have owned and operated a small commercial custom golf and repair business for approx. 21+ years. For the last 9 years I have used and occasionally sold the Bushnell Pinseeker 400 and 500 models. I have made a decision to use and sell a GPS golf rangefinder and give up the “see through lenses” type system. Last week I purchased a competitor’s product whose brochure shows an illustration of the entire golf hole with its hazards and layout illustrated, only to find out that the only picture is that of the green itself - not from tee to the green. I understand that your system does illustrate the entire hole and then moves as the golfer repositions himself along the hole as he approaches the green. I would like someone to contact me at my business phone (3367662233) from 12:30 til 6:00 PM EDT or anytime on my cell at 3369711871. I would like to talk with someone about selling your product and its’ advantages over other GPS systems. Thank you for a timely response. Respectfully, Ed Scharff - owner
