GPS on Samsung SGH-i780
Published on November 17th, 2007 in gps navigation, phones, samsungSamsung SGH-i780 has been on Navigadget before. Today we have a video from unwired about the A-GPS functionality on this device.
A-GPS improves the performance of GPS receivers by providing them with data that they would ordinarily have to download from the GPS satellites. With A-GPS data, GPS receivers can operate faster and more reliably. To make use of the A-GPS functionality though the phone radio needs to be turned on which means you can’t use it in flight mode.
A nice feature is that Samsung SGH-i780 will actually let you know if the A-GPS receiver is in use or not.
The video shows how Google Maps makes use of the information obtained by the A-GPS receiver.
