Published on November 3rd, 2007 in gps navigation, phones
We got the news of a new entry level phone equipped with GPS, called Hop1883. It will be offered by Hop-On Wireless operating out of California.
The new HOP1883 is a tri-band 900/1800/1900 MHz inexpensive GSM phone for both domestic and international markets. It is lightweight and comes in candy bar form factor and features a 2.8″ 240 x 320 resolution (QVGA) screen. Of course the most eye catching feature here is the embedded SiRF Star III GPS receiver chip which can be used to track/stalk childer or the elderly. You also get a 2MP digital camera.
It is currently in production. We’ll be sure to let you know when it becomes available.
