Published on July 31st, 2007 in gps navigation, tracking
This GPS jammer simply plugs into your car charger and jams any signal broadcasting within 1450 to 1600Mhz range. It’s coverage is about 2 to 4 meters which is big enough to interrupt any GPS tracking device that may have been implemented in your vehicle. Pricing is not known yet but check out this site soon for it will be available very soon.

[...] Is someone snooping on you? Maybe you’re just paranoid; then again, maybe not. Well Chinavasion (no, I’m not making that name up) has a forthcoming GPS jamming device on their website that claims to be able to block signals over a range of 2 to 4 meters. Theoretically, that is enough to effectively eliminate the tracking threat. No word on availability, pricing or legality in the U.S.! Via Navigadget. [...]

[...] If you’re the type who just may be the victim of undercover GPS tracking (read: promiscuous), you should give some serious thought to this one. This simple cigarette adapter plug-in reportedly “knocks out GPS logging or GPS tracking systems that may be operating in your vehicle,” and considering that it sports a two-to-four meter operating range, just about every automobile outside of an 18-wheeler (or limousine) should be covered. Unfortunately, there’s no word yet on how much this potential life-saver will cost, but its slated to ship “soon” to the devious and uber-paranoid sects. [Via NaviGadget] [...]

How do you know if someone has put a tracking device in your vehicle. Where do you look for it? Is it placed in an area that is difficult to find with the naked eye?
Would appreciate any assistance.
Well you would know if someone is constantly showing up where you are at or intercepting your car when you are driving. This is happening to me and the only way they could possibly know is with a GPS device. I purposely change my route and places i go and they still show up. You can buy a RF detector which will detect the signals, but problem is Covert GPS devices only send signals out every 30 seconds to 10 minutes, depending on what was selected. Also new models only send signals out when the car is in motion. So it would be by chance the detector would pick the signal up. They run on 4 batterys and are in a magnetic case to stick anywhere on the car. If you are successfull in finding it i understand the courts are very rough on the offender.
It’s also useful for people worried about stockers and armored car companies since GPS tracking devices are often used to commit crimes.
If you regularly transport high value items then yes you want to do what ever you can to prevent outside parties from tracking you.
A good example would be placing the device on an armored car and then rob it when it’s in a location far from police and any assistance.
Also your typical predators might place a device on a car for obvious reasons.
On GPS devices in phones well if it transmits full time and the local cops can receive it then you can say anyone with basic electronics knowledge also could receive the signal if they wish to do so.
Plus 24 hour tracking can be used to make anyone look guilty so yes you should fear it.
