Step III GPS GSM tracking from Falcom

STEPP III is an easy to install GSM/GPRS/GPS tracking terminal from Falcom with an embedded software application designed to be a high volume, low-cost, flexible system solutions for fleet management, vehicle security and recovery and other related areas. Step III embeds a quad Band GSM/GPRS core, high-sensitivity 20-channel GPS receiver, and a 3D-motion sensor.

The device is completely self-contained and battery-powered system with a stand-alone software that provides location based applications.

The tracking functionality of the embedded mobile client application is combined with variety of alert messaging capabilities. The configurable alert messages contain current position and status report. The system also lets you detect the ignition line and main power (car battery) failure, and so you may take precautions in time. Nevertheless, if the external power source fails, the internal rechargeable 1100 mAh Li-Polymer battery provides continuous operation for about 10-12 hours.

Step III even allows for an hidden microphone and it is capable of transmitting voice, SMS, and data wirelessly and even handle TCP/IP connections… (product pdf)

    I hope it is better than their absolute rubbish previous version or their equally bad Twist or A2 modules, of which I have at least half a dozen failed units (i.e. 100%) in my drawer.

    And customer service is non-existent - point out a firmware bug & you will be told to ‘buy the next version’!
