Sanyo NVA-HD1700DT in-dash entertainment w/ GPS is new in Japan

Sanyo just announced a new in-dash entertainment system with integrated GPS navigation. The HD1700DT is also capable of receiving digital TV broadcasts which can be displayed on its 7-inch and if for some reason you would rather keep your eyes on the road rather than watching TV you also have the option of burning your favorite show on a DVD for enjoying it later.

Sanyo NVA-HD1700DT comes with a 30GB HDD which stores all your media files as well as your maps, points of interests, and more. The optical drive on-board lets you also rip CD’s so you can all of your music in one place.

GPS routing is intelligent and not only factors in typical traffic delays but also environmentally sound driving: the system will warn the driver when acceleration or braking is hard and threatens fuel economy.

Of course they didn’t leave out the good old AM/FM radio but it is enhanced with RDS text support. It will be available in Japan for equivalent of $2320… via
