turn your Sony PSP into GPS navigation system using Google Maps

Here is a video explaining how to turn a Sony PSP into a GPS navigation system using maps downloaded from Google. Of course you still need Sony’s GPS add-on called PSP-290. Other than that you’ll need a files named gmdl0.4.16b, 3[1].30-OE-A_prx, MapThis0499_beta, and mapViewer_v03.

Let us know if this helps at all. You can buy the PSP-290 for $60 and have it FedEx’ed all the way from Japan for only $23. For more details you can visit developer’s site.

This looks enticing but it takes a major OS hack to the PSP. New PSPs can’t be hacked back to the old OS he’s using. It is still easier to buy a system with maps. I would love to see sony do this but don’t get your hopes up that this process is the answer to you GPS dreams.
