apple GPS navigation system for Mercedes

According German magazine Focus Apple is building an in-car navigation system exclusively for Mercedes. After the exclusivity period ends, which should last only 6 months, other manufacturers are also expected offer the new navigation system.
After computers, MP3 players and mobile phones the computer manufacturer also wants to offer navigation and sound systems for cars very soon. Mercedes will be the first.
According the information at Focus the equipment, which the US computer manufacturer is developing at the moment, will combine maintenance, communication and navigation in a single unit.
Mercedes will exclusively offer the new Apple navigation system set for six months. The product is expected to be introduced to market in 2009. It is still unclear whether Apple - as in iPhone - will rely on Google maps as navigation aid.
If you can’t wait until 2009 you should wait for the 2nd generation iPhone to come out in 2008… via
