finally another UMPC with GPS

Bunch of UMPC’s and MID’s (mobile internet device) still keep popping up everywhere but only a few of them bother to put in a GPS chip. One of these companies is EB with their new MIMD (mobile internet multimedia device).

This UMPC by EB will run Linux and will offer various advanced communication platforms including Wi-Fi, WiMax, HSDPA, and even bluetooth. The user interface includes full slide-out QWERTY keyboard, various easy access buttons, and a high resolution 4.8″ touch screen LCD. And of course it will have an embedded GPS chip.

Unfortunately EB will not be retailing these devices but rather will look for OEM’s and other customers to market the product. Let’s all hope they can find some buyers… via
