LG LN740 provides best route
Published on May 30th, 2007 in gps navigation, reviews
LG LN740 just got reviewed and it received an impressive report card from the picky reviewers. In fact when it comes to routing it even did better than brands like Garmin and Magellan, probably thanks to the software engineers that made the most out of the Navteq maps on board which provides maps U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico on a 2GB internal flash memory card.
Related:The LG LN740 is an extremely capable navigation device that exhibited some of the best routing logic I’ve seen to date. The interface is relatively simple to use, the mounting hardware is effective, and the unit includes everything you’ll need to receive real-time traffic data.
Overall the LN740 is an excellent GPS. However, I found the 4-inch display of lesser quality (brightness and resolution) than other competing 4-inch models from Magellan and Garmin. The traffic service requires an additional antenna that must be routed along the windshield, creating unsightly clutter and additional steps to connect/disconnect the GPS from the car.

Does anyone know if the software logic for the LN740 is same as that in the LN735..? I’m pleased to know LG has received high routing score.. but since the LN735 is smaller that is unit I am interested in now. Any comments comparing the LG740 and LG 735 on performance would be appreciated. Of course the obvious that LG740 has 4″ screen and is traffic data enabled while the LN735 has only a 3.5″ and is not traffic data enabled is known.
Thanks for any posts here.

Does the LG LN740 have an earphone jack? Skimming the on line manual it doesn’t mention it.
