3D city maps of 50 European cities ready in July

Tele Atlas recently announced that it will make available nearly 50 detailed 3D city maps for use in navigation devices and location-based applications. The first Tele Atlas 3D city maps will be released in July 2007, including maps for major European cities such as Berlin, London and Rome. More European, U.S. and Asian cities are scheduled to be released in 2008.
In addition to 3D mapping, they will also texturize most of the city centers, adding landmarks and other notable structures making it even easier for visitors and tourists to orient themselves.
TeleAtlas‘ 3D city maps complements their currently available 3D product which includes 1,000 landmarks in 30 European cities. The first GPS navigation system to use TeleAtlas’ new 3D landmarks will be Pioneer’s recently launched AVIC-HD3BT. This system includes 518 European landmarks in 21 cities. Tele Atlas also plans to launch more than 1,000 3D landmarks for the U.S. in more than 30 major cities in 2007.

Early in 2008, still we are awaiting 3D in Maps and in Earth!. All available at relatively low-cost from our services at http://geo-games.eu. We do not compete with above mentionned great services; we just use readily available platforms (or engines as you like) like Google Earth and Google Maps, and Virtual Earth (Live Search) from Microsoft.
