cheap Aytobe GPS navigation system

aytobe-gps-004.jpg
Now you can have a sat nav system for under £100 ($200). This is nothing new (see PIVA PNS350, and KV-PX9) but it still qualifies as really cheap these days. It is manufactured by Aytobe and sold at Maplin.

It comes with a remote so others in the car can easily operate it, whether it is the navigation or the MP3 player function. Other features include full UK mapping with 7-digit post code on SD using Tele Atlas maps, 3.5″ touch screen with a stylus, SiRF Star III GPS receiver, built-in battery (only 3 hours), and 64MB flash memory… via

    hi rebecca,
i was looking at the aytobe and asking the same question.
i was told by the sales person that it may be possible to use tomtom maps,
but he wouldn’t say anymore than that.

    good luck.

Hey everyone. I bought the aytobe sat nave 2 years ago. I found it excellent. I loaned it to my sister in law and she broke my car charger. Anyone got any idea where I’d get one on the net.

    hi
similar problem last year.Maplin gave me a replacement multi voltage/multi tip configurable 12v charger from their display which is ok.Just make sure you wrap cello tape or similar around the joint between the tip insert and the connector it attaches to,cos if it comes apart it will be guess work as to which way round the polarity goes.
