OnCourse Navigator 6 (aka OCN6)

Easy PocketNAV just introduced OnCourse Navigator 6, a new GPS navigation software which includes latest (January 2007) maps from TeleAtlas loaded onto either 1 or 2GB cards. The maps cover U.S. and Canada, including Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico, and Guam. If you are a POI (points of interest) happy person, you should definitely go for the 2GB version for it includes 12.5 million of them. With 1GB version you get only 3.5 POIs.

OnCourse Navigator 6 (OCN6) is designed to make navigation on a Microsoft Windows Mobile 5 Phone or Microsoft Pocket PC as easy to use as a Personal Navigation device (PND). User will simply insert a pre-programmed memory card included with OCN6, the software will be installed within 30 seconds and ready to use. No activation, no software registration, no copying of maps is required.

OCN6 features something called “tunnel mode” which will continue navigating for several seconds even when the GPS signal is lost as you travel through tunnels or similar environments.

OCN6 2GB version costs $145.

This is a license of the Hungarian made “iGO My Way” navigation software already well-known in Europe and used in MyGuide, Mio DigiWalker and Novogo products.

    Hompakker Hi,

Yes, you are correct and OCN6 is based on the latest map data from TeleAtlas dated Jan 2007 as well as the latest software edition of iGO 2006 SE Plus (without the plus skin)

It’s probably the best looking and most user friendly navigation software for handhelds. Also look out for a hide-away device for cars from the creators of iGO, called Nav’N'Go Limousine. It can be connected to ANY screen with a composite video input. Link of a review with pics and video clip (though in Hungarian):
