Mango Research teams up with NXP software

Mango Research teamed up with NXP software to bring their sub second satellite fix time to a personal navigation device such as the new Mango Research Magic 380.
For the first time in a handheld device, NXP Software’s swGPS Personal performs all the signal processing necessary to measure GPS satellite signals and calculate your position entirely in software. Running on the handheld device’s normal processor, it eliminates the need for a separate GPS baseband processing chip, saving board space and boosting performance. Plus, with GPS functionality handled in software, the device can be easily modified or upgraded without the need for hardware changes.
There’s no word on pricing or availability from Mango Research just yet. But if the claims are true it’ll revolutionize the way personal navigation devices (PNDs) are built. Be prepared to say goodbye to those 30+ seconds of TTFFs. If the onboard processor is fast enough now it can be done in just a couple of seconds.

I hate MicroSD memory, it’s designed for baby’s fingers, and obviouly, baby’s won’t buy such phone!
I will not buy such phone without, at least MiniSD, if not with SDIO, my preference!
You can do smaller and smaller memory chips, but our fingers stay at the same size!!! So why trying to save stupidly 10mm3?
Compris Mr Nokia, Samsung and co?
