Oh yes, there are so many new Nuvi’s. Meet Garmin Nuvi 650. Nuvi 650 is the budget version of Nuvi 660. It lacks bluetooth capability, traffic info receiver, and FM transmitter. For $750 you still get basic GPS navigation, text-to-speech functionality, rechargeable lithium-ion battery with up to 7 hours of battery life, Garmin Lock anti-theft feature, MP3 player, audio books, picture viewer, world clock, currency and measurement converter, and a calculator.

You also get a USB interface which when combined with the POI Loader software can turn the Nuvi 650 into a speed radar reminder.

Nuvi 650 will be sold with maps of North America or Europe. For regional maps of Europe you should check out Garmin Nuvi 600.

Is there a way to ‘back-hack’ the nuvi 650 into a nuvi 660?
I notice that when poking about in the deeper recesses of the programming that there are screen options for FM and Bluetooth…what is missing from the unit that neuters it into the 650 as opposed to the 660? is it hardware related, or just a programming limitation? (I noticed that the unit reads an internal microphone as attached and active)
    I ask out of curiousity.
    thx,
