Garmin Nuvi 200
Mar 15, 2007 garmin, gps navigation, nuvi

We finally have a pic of the entry-level nuvi 200. The nuvi 200 became official today and appeared on Garmin’s website – couple of days after we talked about it here at Navigadget. It will retail for $400 and come with maps of lower 48 states. If you want the whole 50 states you’ll have to look into nuvi 250 which also includes maps for Canada (or whole Europe instead of North America) for $500. Nuvi 270 is the most expensive of all ($600), and it has maps of North America and Europe combined.

Navigon 7100 and 5100
Mar 15, 2007 gps navigation, navigon

Navigon is getting ready to release GPS navigation systems with their own hardware and software. The two basic models are Navigon 5100 and 7100, the difference being the screen size. 5100 has a 3.5″ screen and 7100 has a 4.3″ screen. Both will be in wide screen format and feature bluetooth hands free calling.
Our source also mentions that two models will also have two different versions. Navigon 7100 will have regional maps whereas 7110 will come with maps of whole Europe. They’ll be available this summer for 450€ and 500€. Same deal with 5100 and 5110 but those will cost 350€ and 400€.
UPDATE: We were wrong. No bluetooth on 51xx series.
UPDATE: Navigon contacted us:
7110 and 5110 models are European devices and the pricing information that was released is also for Europe only. Pricing for the U.S. devices has not yet been released.
