GPS chips implanted in humans w/ sniper rifle

Apparently a Danish company called Empire North is working on ID Sniper, a sniper rifle that can implant a GPS chip in your body from up to 1.1 Km away.

It is used to implant a GPS-microchip in the body of a human being, using a high powered sniper rifle as the long distance injector. The microchip will enter the body and stay there, causing no internal damage, and only a very small amount of physical pain to the target. It will feel like a mosquito-bite lasting a fraction of a second. At the same time a digital camcorder with a zoom-lense fitted within the scope will take a high-resolution picture of the target. This picture will be stored on a memory card for later image-analysis.

It is probably all BS, since:

  • there are no GPS receivers so small that you won’t feel it if you get shot by one
  • it also has to shoot you with a transmitter – to broadcast where you are
  • how about battery?

So we agree with our source. However, if you are still paranoid you should look into this GPS counter surveillance device. Just keep it under your armpit at all times.

Jakob Boeskov is not a weapons dealer. But two summers ago, he and his artist friends came up with a project that took him deep into the heart of the international weapons trade, armed only with fake business cards and a poster of the most terrible weapon he could imagine – the “ID Sniper Rifle.” His experiences at China Police 2002, which he shares with host Dean Olsher, formed the basis of a traveling art exhibit. Produced by Julie Subrin and Pejk Malinovski.

Even it is only going to cause a small amount of pain you will still feel it. I think this is a very impractical/impossible way to covertly track a person.

OKAY IF A DOCTOR DID THAT TO YOU HOW WOULD YOU DEACTIVATE IT, ACTUALLY, I WOULD THINK A MAGNET WOULD DO IT SINCE MAGNETS CAN WIPE OUT THE HARD DRIVE ON A COMPUTER. SO IF SOMEONE WAS CAPABLE OF PUTTING ONE IN YOU, COULDN’T A MAGNETIC DEVICE LIKE A CELL PHONE BATTERY WIPE IT OUT?
