Peripheral maker IO Gear is trying out the GPS navigation market with its GBGPS201, a kit that includes a bluetooth GPS receiver and navigation software, as well as other accessories such as chargers and carrying case. The MSRP for the kit is $300 (wow!) but you can pick up the IOGear GPS kit from Amazon for $125.
The included map data covers the U.S. and Canada, in detailed street names. The navigation software can provide directions in text, graphic and voice. It also allows for trip recording and playback. Other features include speed detection, trip time estimation, and trip demonstration.
IO Gear does not talk about the mAh capacity of the battery. However they claim it will last upto 25 hours. They also don’t mention whose maps they use or what kind of GPS chip is in there.
Make sure you read the reviews on Amazon before you invest IOGear Bluetooth GPS kit.
