If you are wondering how to get GPS navigation on your Blackberry Pearl, look no further. A review / guide came out on CrunchGear that talks about using TeleNav service on this sexy phone.

The device works simply enough. After you’ve subscribed to the service there is a small program that you must download to your mobile phone. You then pair the receiver to your phone via Bluetooth and open the program. The rest is even easier. All of the functions are laid out with obvious buttons and everything functions quite seamlessly.

So if it isn’t clear to this point, my experience using the Blackberry Pearl from Cingular and the TeleNav GPS Receiver in tandem was extremely positive…

Keep in mind this review is almost too optimistic, and also on the front page of TeleNav. So maybe it is sponsored or something. We can’t tell.

If you only care about pricing here you go:
T-Mobile Price: $349, instant discount $150, mail-in rebate $50 = $149
Cingular Price: $399, 2-yr contract price: $249, mail-in rebate $50 = $199

However if you go through blackberry pearl’s own site you’ll be able to find more rebates and eventually get it for free. But we know how we’re with rebates so don’t bank on that idea.

Also you can find a bunch of these on eBay for about $300 if you don’t want to sign up for a 2-yr contract.

The Telenav service costs $10/ month for unlimited directions, and $6 for 10 directions /month. Of course if you don’t have an onboard GPS chip (blackberry perl doesn’t) you’re going to need a bluetooth GPS receiver. Almost any will work. Go for something with a long battery life.
