Map This! GPS support Sony PSP

Navigadget has been closely following of any kind of hacking / software development for the GPS add-on for Sony’s PSP (PSP-290). Deniska seems to be the expert in this field and this he created MAP THIS, a homemade application that interfaces the $60 hardware you can pick up from here (can ship to U.S for as low as $9!).
Keep in mind this is the first beta version and it only supports the PSP-290 and not any other generic GPS receiver. And again, this is not a navigator. But it will show you where you are on the map, your speed, altitude, distance covered, etc…

Hello there. I’m a software developer/ multi media developer and Graphic designer all in one. Can someone please tell me how to work around getting a South African Map compatible with PSP 290 and Map This.
I will be able to try and create my own maps or something. I just need to know how all the other maps are being created and how to use GMDL and google maps to do so… I’m sorry if I might be the dumb one but I’m all Questionmarks up in here. And then I also read that you can use TOMTOM maps or something? Can anyone tell me more about this or help me somehow.
