Streets and Trips 2008
Jan 22, 2007 gps navigation, gps software, msn direct

We have the first glimpse of Microsoft Streets and Trips 2008 installed on a Samsung Q1. Looks like this version has support for MSN Direct services where traffic flow and incidents are displayed on the map as well as gas prices from over 118,000 gas stations all over the country. In case you are wondering MSN Direct gets its data from the FM band, just like a radio. If its like previous versions of Streets and Trips the GPS receiver will be bundled with the software but this time it will also include the MSN Direct receiver.

Streets and Trips 2008 will be released August 25, 2007. At least, that’s what it says on Amazon.com. You can pre-order it.

I have the 2008 with the GPS. I purchased it two weeks ago when we were on a trip to Colorado and broke down in Kansas and had no idea where we were. I used it the entire time we were in Colorado and on the way home. It works great!! The trip planner is great and right on time with our travel. I love it and am glad to have purchased it!!

A problem with streets and trips 2008 is becoming well known by all. Microsoft has been contacted by many people and as of today (2-9-2008), I have received no good answer to my requests for assistance.
The program works very well for a couple of weeks or so. Then it is impossible to open it on the computer.
It was a pain to enter the required Program Validation information.
All in all, I’m very unhappy.

For now I would avoid MS 2008 Street and Trips as it has a problem that prevents it from opening after a few weeks of operation. After about an hour with MS support the technician admitted the program has a problem and as of 3/2/8 there is no fix. MS is actually refunding money for the defective program. Don’t bother removing and reinstalling the program as it will not change anything. My concern now is that it will not be possible to reinstall previous versions due to file corruption.
I depend on the program for my work so this is a real set-back. Will go back and look at another program until the fix is available.

Microsoft Streets and Trips 2008 simply refused to open Sunday, March 2, 2008. After several restarts and reinstalls I contacted tech support and spent an hour attempting a fix, after which I was offered a refund.
Points of frustration-
• Fourteen good hardworking are out of work until a new mapping program can be incorporated into our system.
• Seventeen percent of Arizona streets and address are not located in Street and Trips 2008.
• Mapping is outdated more than five years in Arizona.
I would not have recommended this program prior to its breakdown, this is just icing on the cake. Does anyone know of a good mapping program?

I bought streets and trips 2008 2 days ago. The GPS worked great for about 12 hours total. Now I am sitting in a motel, 500 miles from home with 175 inspections still left to do in 5 different counties. Did I mention I was in Oklahoma? Been on phone with MS tech support most of the day, still not fixed. I have no idea how I am going to work. I am self-employed and this program is a necessity in my business. I have 4 years of push pins with rural route addresses that were hard to find. Any ideas?

I have to say, I could not agree with you in 100%, but that’s just my opinion, which could be wrong.
p.s. You have an awesome template for your blog. Where have you got it from?
