Asus MyPal A696 to hit U.S. soon

Asus‘ recent addition to its Pocket PC line up is going to be the MyPal A696 which includes an integrated GPS chip as well as Wi-Fi connectivitiy (b+g). We had a chance to get a feel of the A696 at CES 2007. It has a nice solid feel to it and the screen was really satisfactory.
The new A696 runs Windows Mobile 5.0 on an Intel XScale processor at 416Mhz and comes with 256MB of ROM and 64 MB of SDRAM. For expansion slot you have a standard SD slot which supports SDIO/SD/MMC formats. For audio there’s an integrated mic and a speaker so you can have full duplex recording and playback. 3.5mm earphone jack is there too.

The new A696 is expected to be available in the U.S very very soon (February) and cost around $500.
