Jan 7, 2007 CES 2007, gps navigation

A new product from Fujitsu Eclipse to be showcased at CES 2007 is the AVN6610; a DVD navigation system with 7″ wide TFT display and dual DVD multi-source receiver. It can provide voice guidance in English, French, Spanish, and also features city map where you can even get info on which lane to stay on.
It comes with 8.55 million POI’s and is able to receive live traffic information. AVN6610 also has support for HD radio and Sirius radio.
Since it has dual optical drives, you can also watch DVD’s while the other drive is busy reading map info from the DVD. The live traffic info for the AVN6610 is provided through “Sirius Traffic” (optional) which can provide info on accidents, road closings and traffic congestions.
We’ll update this post when we have more info on the price.

I saw this unit first-hand at CES…form factor is identical to it’s competitors, but does allow for the bigger 6.95″ screen, UI is way more sophisticated, addition of Sirius Traffic is awesome, iPod IU is better, all around an impressive unit…especially for a est. MSRP of @ $1700…
