Navman’s TravelAssist GPS software designed for Smartphones just got reviewed by folks at PCW.
Navman’s Travelassist package, available for Symbian 60 smartphones and Pocket PCs, brings the Navpix photo navigation system to your handheld.
In addition, the supplied Bluetooth GPS receiver offers SirfStarIII navigation and you’ll find eight-digit postcode searching in addition to POI or Navpix selection.
However they found problems with accuracy of the information provided such arrival time, or heavy reliance on freeways. They also mention that slow re-fresh rate could cause problems at busy intersection where you don’t get an extra second to wait for your phone to update.
We haven’t mentioned but you do need a bluetooth GPS receiver to talk to your phone for Navman TravelAssist to work.
