Published on November 24th, 2006 in gps navigation, phones, software
Wayfinder just launched SpeedAlert, an application to help you to stop speeding. SpeedAlert is installed on your cell phone (list of compatible models) and functions jointly with a GPS receiver. First you choose the speed which you do not wish to exceed; then enter it your phone and SpeedAlert is at work: as soon as you exceed the fixed speed limit, it will beep at you! At this point you are supposed to slow down.
Each user can also register for free on the SpeedAlert network of Wayfinder, which enables them to inform the other users of the new speed radars and receive information sent by the members of the network, therefore avoiding speeding tickets as a community.
The application will be marketed with GPS receiver for 129 Euros and be available online as soon as January 1st.
