Clarion just added the new NAX970HD to its HDD (hard disk drive) based navigation system series. The NAX970HD is just the brains of the sat nav system, you also need to get the MAX675VD’s which is a 7-inch motorized touch-screen, the largest screen size available in a 2DIN unit. Both units will cost you about $1200 total.

MAX675VD-043.jpgThe NAX970HD has a 30GB HD and it boasts a high-speed processor to perform ultra-fast coast-to-coast route calculation in a matter of seconds. Unlike cheaper systems you can take full advantage of the iPod, Satellite Radio or others sources of input while navigating. The 30GB hard disk holds about nine million points of interest.

The MAX675VD is one of the only true, integrated multimedia components available today, period. Sure it has all of the features you’d expect like touch screen control, DVD playback and turn-by-turn voice guidance from the optional HDD navigation system, but that’s just the beginning of the integration. Consider the MAX675VD as the only true 2-DIN iPod controller in the industry with 5.1-channel surround processing capabilities, Satellite Radio connectivity and additional component connectivity for CD/DVD changers, TV tuner and additional video monitors. The integrated parametric equalization and 200 total watts of on-board power make this unit the only true, integrated digital media controller.

You say total for both units is $1200.00.
Not so.. not even close. $1200.00 is the retail for just the 675 head unit.
The 970 for NAV is $899.00. I’m sure we can find a cheaper price online,
    but prob not $900.00 cheaper.
Just a little info to consider..
