Road Mate 012 – GPS traffic safety device

roadmate012-672.jpg
This little foldable device – Road Mate 012 – from Korea is a traffic safety device. It won’t tell you where you are or give you directions but it promises to keep you out of trouble and keep your driving record clean.

GPS detector (Traffic safety terminal) is the system to provide service by converting DB into voice and display such as dangerous speeding areas, frequently occurring accidents areas, sharp curve areas, tunnel areas, highway information (rest areas, interchanges, junctions, tollgates, and ticket office), existing on national roads after calculating the present location of vehicles by using GPS at real time. The specs aren’t very clear but it sounds like Road Mate 012 updates its database automatically using “pager loop”. This database contains over 50,000 entries (probably just for Korea) and it is supposed to know whether you are on a toll road, speeding, crossing rail roads, or approaching a gas station.

We’d love to hear our Korean’s readers’ translations too.
