Harmon Kardon RB4 GPS navigation system
Oct 22, 2006 gps navigation, harman kardon

If you think Harmon Kardon only makes expensive audio equipment you’re wrong. They also make GPS navigation systems. Meet RB4. A CD / radio / GPS navigation system packed into a small body that can fit into your car’s audio slot. This 3-in-1 device has a full featured navigation which can give you visual and voice prompt commands before the next turn. The good thing about RB4 is that it allows you to download the maps onto its memory so that the CD slot is yours to use while navigating. The included CD’s contain the maps to the US and Canada. The screen measures 4.9″ diagonally giving you plenty of space to show everything you need, even distance to destination, and estimated time of arrival. RB4 also supports Sirius satellite radio module as well as Chrysler UCONNECT hands free module and select Chrysler DVD/CD changers.

Does anyone know where to get the latest software upgrade for the RB4?
January 5th, 2008 at 6:03 am
If someone would like to email me @ mrmajix@yahoo.com I can help with the 05064 142AA update. I would also like to know if anyone using the latest firmware was able to get artist and song info to appear using sirius? I was told this firmware corrected that but it has not.
January 11th, 2008 at 2:47 pm
I can get you the update AA discs if you are in need. However, it looks like the AA DOES NOT update and make available song and artist for sirius, contray to what has been written. I will try to follow this up with more information.

Has anyone found support for this product other that an internet forum? It has me disgusted that Dodge Dealers are clueless on the RB4, Harmon Becker refers customers to Dodge and Navteq (the software maker) does not support the software.
January 16th, 2008 at 3:22 pm
There is NOTHING out there as far as support beyond what you find online. Its funny how Navteq, the map software supplier doesnt even list OLD versions of the software being available.

Guys, if you are going to spend money on navigation and thought the rb4 was a dream, keep saving and get a nice one. The features of a map are way better than this unit. i bought one, then bought a cd changer for my jeep, everything works well, but when i would buy discs for it, they never updated the area i lived in, so basically a waste of 350 bucks. if you are looking for new cds, go on ebay and look up the user mr.cd1, he seems to have everything for the units. he’s an ass though, so dont ask questions if you expect a reply.

Just to let all of you know. Hunt Automotie Electronics located in Warren,Michigan is the only authorized repair center for the Chrysler RB4 radio in the country.
The AA version is the latest and greatest version of the RB4 software.
December 27th, 2008 at 7:24 am

My rb4 is dead. Truck was running today for about 1.5 hours. I stopped for a minute and when I came back smoke was rolling out of the dash. Has anyone else heard of this.
